Curated by the poet and the director of Saudha, Ahmed Kaysher,
the Keats house session will feature the idea of truth and beauty of
John Keats that resonates inner-message of few genres Indian classical
music influenced by Sufism and Vaishnavism. So. the idea and the mood of
the music will be interpreted and complemented through the recitation
from Keats poetry.
The festival starts on Friday 29 May at the Keats House and tour
to Rich Mix on Saturday 30 May and the finale of the festival happens at
the Poplar Union on Sunday 31 May 2020.
These two major philosophical movements from the Indian
sub-continent evolved from Hindu and Muslim (Sufi) faith, and hugely
influenced the music, literature and art of the whole region. The
festival shares the ecstasy of the arresting melodies derived from the
soil of Bengal, and will feature prominent Bauls and Vaishnavs from both
Bangladesh and India.
