Understanding Your Voice From the Inside Out - Danielle Wertz - ONLINE WORKSHOP in Berkeley
A workshop in anatomy, breath, and balancing your instrument In this three-hour workshop, you will gain a deeper understanding of your voice through an introduction to vocal anatomy and vocal registers. Next, we will explore various vocal exercises that gently condition and strengthen your unique instrument. Technical elements covered include breath support and breath management, understanding how to hear and make dark vs. bright vowels, learning how our bodies can feel supported by adjustments to alignment and posture, and learning how to identify, strengthen and balance vocal registers. After our group exploration, students will have the opportunity to sing one song and receive feedback on integrating these technical practices and healthy approaches into their selections. Applicable to all contemporary vocal styles; no experience necessary! --- Danielle Wertz is an internationally recognized jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and educator. After being named a semi-finalist in the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition, she self-released a duo project, ”Intertwined” (recorded at ABC Studios in Sydney, Australia), and received high praise after its 2017 release. After completing Levels I-III of Somatic Voicework™ training, Danielle now teaches using the principles learned at the LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework™! Danielle recently relocated to Northern California and has been quickly gaining recognition as one of the Bay Area’s most in-demand vocalists.
